You know when you’re little and someone asks what your dream job is, and you say something wild like “princess astronaut” or “chocolate taste tester”? Well, as an adult, one of my dream scenarios has always been “getting to professionally gush about books and being taken seriously for it.”

And friends… it happened.

I’m officially an ambassador for Pages of Passion, my favorite local romance bookstore! This is my very first ambassadorship, and my little content creator heart could not be happier. Like, actually-had-to-sit-down-and-process-it levels of happy.

What does this mean for me? It means I get to represent a place that has fed my TBR pile and my hopelessly romantic heart. Pages of Passion isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a safe haven for readers like me. The kind of place you can wander into on a rainy afternoon and leave with a stack of romances that feel like warm hugs and sharp daggers all at once. The kind of place that proves indie bookstores aren’t just surviving—they’re thriving.

And for you? It means a 10% discount code (MJ10) for in-store or online orders. Go wild, grab that romance you’ve been eyeing, and tell them I sent you.

But let’s be real: it’s not just about the discount. It’s about what it represents.

This feels like such a full-circle moment. I only started reading again last year after a years-long drought, and it was Ana Huang who single-handedly pulled me back into the book world. Her words reminded me why I loved reading in the first place, and from there, the floodgates opened. Romance became my lifeline, my soft place to land, and my comfort genre.

Now, not only am I catching up on all the romance I missed, but I’m also about 10,000 words deep into my own novel—a rockstar x journalist story set right here in Saskatoon. (Because of course my city needed a little drama.) There’s something surreal about standing in Pages of Passion, surrounded by romance spines that saved me, while also carrying a little dream in my head of one day seeing my own book among them.

When I started blogging and making content, it was just me yelling into the void about books, weed, and life as a neurodivergent millennial. I didn’t think anyone was listening, honestly. But slowly, that “yelling” turned into conversations. People resonated. The chaos of my brain and my comfort systems found a community. That community, in turn, gave me the courage to keep showing up.

And now? That showing up has led to real connections. To opportunities like this. To being recognized as part of the bookish ecosystem in a way that teenage-me, scribbling in her notebook, would have cried over.

It’s funny — when you’re younger, you think milestones will feel loud and flashy, like fireworks. But honestly? This one feels warm. It feels like curling up in your favorite reading nook, wrapped in a blanket, sipping tea, realizing you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

I’m so damn grateful. To Pages of Passion for taking a chance on me, to this little corner of the internet that’s been cheering me on, and to younger me who never shut up about books even when people rolled their eyes. You never really outgrow being “the book girl.” You just grow into her more fully.

So here’s to more stories. More romance. More indie love. More chaotic blogging. More of me dragging you along with every plot twist, every late-night binge read, and every moment where life feels like fiction in the best way possible.

And here’s to the next chapter—because this one’s just getting good.

High love & happy reading,
xoxo MJ ☁️
